Okay guys, today I want you to take a second to think about the weather. Do you think you need a thermometer to determine whether it’s cold outside? I mean sure a thermometer can tell you exactly what the temperature is, but could you stick your hand out the window to determine how it feels? Wouldn’t this be enough to determine whether you need a coat or a t-shirt? Of course it is! You don’t need to know the specifics, right?
Well, this is exactly the same with your health, fitness, and wellbeing. You don’t need to know exactly how wrong it is, you just know that you don’t feel great. Maybe your mood isn’t as good as it could be or your energy levels feel shocking.
It might be that your body composition isn’t right, whether it’s not enough muscle mass or too much body fat, you don’t need to know the specific details. I mean, do you need a body fat measurement done to tell you that you’re storing quite a bit of additional fat? Likely not, you can just look down and see that for yourself.
If your energy levels are feeling low, you’re struggling to get through the day, or you feel terrible when you wake up in the morning, then you know there’s something wrong. You might not know exactly what is wrong, but you will know enough to decide you need to do something about it.
So just like when you stick your hand out the window and feel the air, you know if you need to wear a coat or you know you need to wear a t-shirt. When you reflect on how you’re feeling in yourself, you know if you need to change your diet or switch up your exercise routine.
