Hey guys! We have a delicious crunchy treat to share with you today. If you’re someone who’s moved to a more Paleo style of eating, but finds that you’re missing things like cereal and granola, then you need this recipe in your life! It’s the perfect combination of sweet and crunchy without all of the added sugar. Bonus – I reckon most of you already have the majority of the ingredients in your cupboards as we speak!
Caveman Crunch is full of flavour and goes perfectly with a bit of coconut milk and maybe some banana slices as well if you’re feeling fancy 🙂
½ cup raw sunflower seeds
½ cup raw pumpkin seeds
1 cup ground almonds
1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
2 cups flaked almonds
½ cup melted coconut oil
½ cup raw organic honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Cinnamon to taste
Pre-heat oven to 190°c.
Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Combine all wet ingredients in a small pan and mix whilst on a low heat until combined. Once warm, pour over dry mixture and mix well.
Place onto a foil lined baking sheet, spread out evenly and bake for approximately 25 minutes.
Take out after 25 minutes and mix, then re-spread back onto foil lined baking sheet for a further 5 minutes.
Remove and let completely cool before serving with coconut or almond milk.
Store in an airtight container.
